Oh, Dorie… this is so beautiful. I actually just met Asuka yesterday and have been having the loveliest exchange with her. Your words capture the exact energy I felt from her. Gentle, grounded, beautifully soft. She's just darling. You both are. 💛
Andrea, you’re going to make me crawl under the nearest blanket with how sweet this is. Talking with you has been such a delight — you have that calm, sparkly energy that makes me spill my thoughts way too easily, like we’ve already shared five quiet evenings and a whole pot of tea.
And Dorie… oh, she absolutely ambushed me in the softest way. Her poem felt like someone tiptoed into my little world and somehow knew exactly where the warm spots were. I’m still recovering from that. The two of you seeing me in such different but equally tender ways? That’s almost unfair.
Awww Asuka thank you! I love being called sparkly 😊 I am so delighted to have befriended you and Dorie. I would love to share a pot of tea with you both spilling all of our thoughts. 😊
Dorie, you just dropped an entire love-letter-poem-spell on my head first thing in the morning, and now I’m sitting here blinking like someone opened the curtains too fast. The way you wrote “Asuka” felt like you were holding the name up to the light and letting it glow from every angle. I kept reading and thinking, “Oh no… she really saw me, didn’t she?”
You captured all the little things I never say out loud—the quiet corners, the wool-warm softness, the tucked-away pages that wait for me to be brave enough to turn them. And that hummingbird image? I swear it made my heart do a tiny, ridiculous flutter like it wanted to prove you right.
The petal curled, the wick waiting, the shadow on the grass… it felt like you were mapping out all the moments I live in between words. You made them sound gentler, lovelier, more deserving of space than I ever had the nerve to think.
And then you ended with “Asuka is a beautiful name” as if you hadn’t already written an entire ode convincing me of it ten times over.
Thank you for this — truly. For the poem, the softness, the eye you cast in my direction. And for the egg tart, which I am absolutely taking as a sign of your affection and not negotiating.
Hawthorn, I knew the internet brain would strike somewhere, but seeing that link pop up under a soft poem about my name made me laugh way too hard..! The contrast is unhinged in the funniest way — like you accidentally kicked open a side door into the scene and yelled, “Actually… this.” I adore the chaos~
That looks incredibly complicated and difficult. I hate wearing anything that constricting. Also I’d die in those boots. Face plant myself into an intracranial hemorrhage. More power to her! She’s definitely interesting.
I wish I had the kind of inner peace it takes to write a poem like this.
It’s there you have to tap into it
Thanks Dorie.

I’d love to host that! My last tea was too long ago! I can make all sorts of lovely little bites in pretty plates and serve tea. Any kind you like.
Oh my gosh, that would be so much fun! It's been ages and ages for me also.
This is beautiful 😍

I’m so glad you liked it. It was lovely to write and you truly have a beautiful name. 🩷🌸🫶🏼
That was beautifully written
Thank you Leo
Hahahaha. Yes! I saw that when I was looking up the meaning and characters of her name! 😊

Only when I researched the name. I don’t watch television.
