I literally just wrote a comment on someone else's Substack about allowing myself to reflect on the day that has passed and prepare for the one coming - to appreciate that stillness - and the next thing I saw was this poem.
It truly is amazing how the universe just brings us together. These shared moments to remind us that we’re all connected. Thank you Aiden for your lovely comment.
Your poems give me feelings more than understanding. Like. I had this feeling in the beginning of giving up on dreams. And then in the end it’s like… letting go… which isn’t the same as giving up. Like giving my dream to the stars so yhey can make it come true for me. Something like. I can’t quite say it.
It’s the same with your Sophia poem. The metaphors keep driving and it creates a feeling of senses experiencing words. In a very good way.
Thank you Saif! That’s a great compliment. I believe poetry is the emotion of my prose, the area I use to discuss the feelings behind the words, a process until paragraphs form. I’ll tell you a little secret… every poem of mine starts as a paragraph, then I take away the unnecessary words until only emotion is left. If the poem doesn’t feel right, I scrap it.
That’s a really awesome process. Thank you for sharing. It’s similar to how I sometimes write.
But I usually write my idea and then wait for something to fall out that I like, and then start. Like for today’s poem, the first lines I started to write the poem were:
“I have this image of like a farm machine with giant extractor claws and treads rolling on a farm extracting wealth, human ingenuity, creativity, happiness, belonging, so that it can have it. Like we are the farm and it planted us and now is harvesting. And that’s what I am pointing to. But I can’t condense that image down.
Oh my gosh. Wow. I get it. Ok, no this totally makes sense. With a little work it’s better that what I ended up writing. I mean it’s a completely different register. But it’s great. Thanks for doing that for me Rosie.
Anytime! It’s funny lol cause I was going to post this concept in WRPS and see what people came up with and you helped me visualize how to write the post! 🙏🏽🩷
Your poetry is imbued with a softness and a serenity Miss Snow. Your words are a balm to my troubled soul, bringing a calmness that washes over me like a cool summers breeze. Almost invariably bringing a tear to my eyes.
It feels like a gentle sigh turned into a poem — dreaming peace into the night, letting worries float off without a fight. Soft, calm, and very much a little breath I want to keep~
So gentle, so unhurried. I love how it moves from ember to stars, from care to peace, without forcing anything, just letting the breath carry it. Thank you for sharing something so quiet and kind.🤍
Thank you! This was a wake up in the middle of the night, record, then polish and fix in the morning. It always amazes me that sometimes I wake up and just say things, and then in the morning they turn into this beautiful poem. Thank you for being so kind and always reading me so carefully.
You do that too??? Haha, something else we have in common.
Just this morning, around five-something, I woke up with a line fully formed in my head: “Signs are often imperceptible to the ego, arriving instead as subtle pulses of energy.” I had to write that one down immediately.
Have you ever read the poet Courtney Peppernell? She’s quite different in style from you, but I think you might enjoy her work. I started with Watering the Soul (honestly, because the cover had a cute little character on it 😄), and it was that book that reignited my interest in reading poetry… and then I found you. 😊💛
Thank you, that means the world to me. Within the next week or so, I will be starting a second publication called the White Rabbit Poetry Society. It’ll be open to anyone and everyone without a paywall as a place to learn poetry and write poetry freely. I hope you join us!

I think that is a wonderful synchronicity.
A beautiful picture and poem. 💙

This is so beautiful. The imagery and the way the words dance across the page make me smile. It feels gentle, bright, and hopeful.
Thank you

“The human harvesting machine” maybe?”
Like this? Then add your emotion and filler words?
“I have this image
farm machine
giant extractor claws
treads rolling on
extracting wealth,
human ingenuity,
creativity,
happiness,
belonging,
so that it can have it.
we are the farm
planted us
now harvesting.

This feels like an exhale.
Gentle, unforced, and unafraid of quiet.
Thank you for offering this moment of ease.
