This poem has a gentle, and even delicate feeling to it; your words paired with the careful use of rhymes make it a contrast to the heartache and the sense of deep mourning that comes across and might otherwise feel heavy or even oppressive. Well done!
Yes, I have! It’s a lovely practice! Isn’t that kind of what we do when we go to therapy, we start to replace those jagged edges with golden tidbits of reframing?
Thank you Bob for reading and your comment. You are correct, the better , stronger version is the hope. The exhaustion of having to fix the broken is the downside. Baby steps though, sometimes it’s just baby steps
This is so good. Your poems strike me as delicate and gentle but tell real human stories. You’re using the analogy of a glass spun and a thread to communicate how tired and exhausted broken dreams that still live can feel. But the feeling of still wanting broken dreams is universal. It’s like, my whole life I thought the only good stringed instrument was an electric guitar jamming rock and then you played with a harp and I was like oh shit that’s good too .
Thank you for seeing it so clearly. Poetry is a rather indirect method of communication these feelings that are so difficult to articulate. I like the balance of humanness, telling a story, and offering a moment of feeling. Thank you Saif.
Har safar ka shuruat khud ko samajhne se hota hai.😍 Mere liye, yeh shuruat thi apne dard aur emotions ko accept karne se. Main ne apni anxious attachment aur emotional struggles ko samjha, aur dheere-dheere seekha ke pain ka weight hamesha mere saath nahi rehna chahiye.😅
Phir aaya healing ka waqt. Maine seekha ke apni mental peace aur self-love ko priority dena koi selfish kaam nahi, balki zarurat hai. Neuroplasticity ke zariye apne neurons ke patterns ko shift karna, apne dimagh aur dil dono ko heal karna—yeh meri daily practice ban gayi.
Mere experiences aur healing ka sabse natural expression mera writing aur storytelling tha. Maine apni Substack newsletter “دل کی آواز | Khushbakht Ahmed” launch ki, jahan main apni aur dusron ki emotional aur healing stories share karti hoon. YouTube pe bhi ek channel shuru kiya “دل کی آواز – Khushbakht Ahmed”, jahan sirf text aur visuals ke zariye stories sunai jaati hain.
Mere professional journey ka hisa bhi yehi hai—ek therapist aur self-awareness coach ban kar, main society ke norms aur social media ke pressures se logon ko empower karna chahti hoon. Freelancing aur portfolio development ne mujhe ye seekh diya ke apne kaam ko monetize karna aur apni creativity ko professional level pe lana mumkin hai.
Aur ab, apni personal life me bhi clarity aur peace hai. Main apne liye aur apni family ke liye ek happy, healed environment create kar rahi hoon. Apni choices me confident hoon aur apni emotional well-being ko kabhi compromise nahi karungi.😇
Yeh mera safar hai—dard se shuru, healing aur creativity se guzra, aur ab self-love aur empowerment tak pohonch gaya hai. Har pain jo maine feel kiya, har struggle jo maine jhela, sabne mujhe ye sikhaaya ke hum apni zindagi ke creator khud hain.

Have you ever heard of Kintsugi? It’s a process of fixing something with gold. It’s a really cool concept that has many values.

Yeah exactly. We remember that when we work on ourselves we are fixing it with gold and getting better. Even when it doesn’t seem like it.
Truth🙌🏼
Such sad words Dorie.
I have never seen anything or anyone that is broken that can't be fixed. Sometimes better and stronger and more resilient than the original.
Your poetry has a way of touching people in places where only someone near and dear are allowed to go.

OMG I love this
This was just a wake up, say the words, go back to sleep and say oh I wrote a poem
