We had the idea to write about hope, because our poetry was dark of late. I am most honored to have a few moments to spend with a wonderful poet. We have hope you will find a moment of ease and respite here.
Hope
We forge within a sacred boon
For those we cherish
A thing to nurture
In hallowed spaces, covert and guarded
Of reverent genesis, gentle, sovereign
Forging our path into the unknown with bright surety
And obligation to our progeny, that they may thrive
Giving shape to their essence as it shines
In calm radiance
Bend its luminous folds
In quiet hope and golden dawns ahead
I think we often forget to look at the wonders of this world, with gratefulness and hope. We are often too immersed in grief, pain, and sorrow. However, what waits for us in gentler times, is hope that life as we know it will always get better.
What Awaits
astonishing things
we are given to see
bright sparks to
outlast
every sorrow.
prisms caught
in an endless shadow,
but promises,
breaking like dawn,
we borrow.
Spirit in flight,
laughter, love
sweet drawing care
Soul floating high
grateful, we draw
each new breath,
skyward in praise,
color rush into the gray
a slow, magnificent daze
the scent of heaven
is so close
a summer rain,
a dream, in flight
clear in sight
Yes, the path
is not easy
to walk or to name,
with every step,
more light, less shame
hope is truth
we take each breath
not a fragile wish,
watch the dawn,
a reason we rise,
a reason to walk

It turned out great
Your poem is like a spiral thread into the heavens, it's very different from your usual style and I love it! So well done, Dorie
These were wonderful to read during a break at work on a day that I can't wait to just get out of here so my weekend can start.
This reminded me to allow myself to see the joy in everyday moments.
