Love Symphony
What would I do?
Where would I go?
Would I, like Ruth, swear
“Wherever you lead, I shall follow.
Your people, my people” …
A vow etched in marrow.
Or sail oceans of time,
Alter my form and my soul,
Descend into deepest darkness
To wait, and be whole?
Would I scatter the ashes of creation?
Let every star grow cold and dim,
Burn the blueprints of heaven
For one final glimpse of him?
What would I dare…
If I found, you?
I recently posted a prompt on White Rabbit Poetry Society about being inspired by music. I was going through old playlists today and found this song. Made me think, what would I do if I loved someone to wait eternity for.
What would you do? I have heard it said that a hero who loves you, will sacrifice himself and you to save the world, a villain who loves you will burn down the world down to save you. I think I would like the later, as the former has been rather uninspiring.

I love Annie Lennox, just as I loved this poem.
It had that same haunting, timeless feel, like love stretched across lifetimes and choices we hope we’d never have to make but somehow know we would. Beautiful piece, Dorie. 💛
Beautifully written. The questions and imagery give this such a quiet, haunting pull.
