Chapter 10
Mary walked casually toward the Humanities building, unhurried, enjoying the scenery and the cool, fresh air. Snow would come soon, and these beautiful afternoons would fade. As she rounded the corner to her building, a contented sigh escaped from her. She headed straight for the canteen.
Sam was already there, waiting in line. She waved eagerly, Mary crossed over quickly to greet her.
“Hey! Thanks for holding our spot.”
“So, how was your first class?”
“Really good. It’s nice to be back in a classroom. How about yours?”
