Am loving the atmosphere this piece creates, both between the characters and the overall ambience.

Thank you Gary! That means so much! This story was definitely out of my comfort zone. It was exciting to write but hard at the same time if that makes sense.

I am embarrassingly attached... to the palm fronds whispering something scandalous. XDD I swear I heard that leafy gossip and went, yeppppp, the terrace has chosen chaos too.

They were reacting to the scandalous scene! Of course they had to mummer and whisper.

The atmosphere, the intense stripped down prose, the lush details of the time period (wedding cake hotels)... sublime. Reading this is like watching a classic noir like "The Postman Always Rings Twice". Very addictive.

Thank you Moll! My heart was pounding as I wrote it.🫣 I kept thinking what is Tens feeling? How do I put an ocean in a thimble? When you take away all the extra words and just leave the important notes, I think that creates the most tantalizing atmosphere!

Love like this is almost always tragic. Life is not always fair or gentle. It takes away what matters most. Painfully sometimes, necessary other times.
