Axis Shifting
Did the world stop
revolving,
because I did?
When did time pause,
The grand march.
A wondrous thing
to fall in love.
Slow things down,
enjoy the tempered
pace of afternoon strolls,
park lemonade.
Your hand in mine,
warm and gentle.
Rest my head
On your chest,
A place created
Just for me.
How do I describe
Swirling spectrums
Of universes,
Celestial beings,
glow…in your eyes
Piercing mine with
A certainty I’ve never
Once known.
Lost words
Strangle my throat
Pronunciations of
Beauty escape me
in the heart
Of your gentleness.
Strength when, if
Necessary.
Protection most
Fierce, most feral.
Until a storm
Clouds my face
Then you kneel
Until the clouds pass.
That too is sacred
The soft moments
Where tears fall
And you, refuse
To let them fall
Alone, abandoned.
I think the world
Stopped on its axis…
Before you, I ran
Muttering nothings.
Endless musings
With no purpose.
Now with you
The world has now
slowed to only
Moments spent
Together.

A beautiful thing to be in love.
Love, found.
Something found, something lost -
yet I am here.
Oh, now I am here,
you holding me.
